Oh James...I am sorry. Is there any way to let it "drop" to your dad about this? As mentioned I have several creatures of evil in my family so I totally get it. I have found the best defense is a strong offense...if they think they can roll over you, they will. I don't want to start WWIII in your house but IMHO at some point a person has to take a stand. I don't know how much you talk to your dad but by how angry you are I would say it isn't every 10 years.

Fire - Don't feel bad... you didn't know, but my Dad died almost 2 years ago. He'll be one of three inducted posthumously. So now there's no one to stand in her way to get what she wants. She lies and tells people we didn't have any relationship with our Dad but really we did and a lot of it was behind her back. BUT we do have someone on our side, lots of someones actually. She was never part of his football career, we were, we were there as kids when he coached games, my sister was born when he played for the Cowboys. We're good kids and his grandson is even gooder, starting OK college on a soccer scholarship 2 days after the ceremony. We've been nice since January when she tried to attended an announcement luncheon while we heard about it on the radio. Nice pays off but no kid gloves from here on out. She shows her true colors by excluding his only blood family from the family table and that's just fine with us!  |

It seems to me that you must have friends/friendly contacts in his universe you can speak to about where you will sit for this which would be a wonderful little "surprise" you can spring on her that day. This really is inexcusable on her part. |

Well hello to you all! Thank you to Fire for letting me know you were all here. I stopped by back in the beginning but didn't see the length of the thread and thought nobody was here. Good to see you are here and mostly well (at least on and off).
So I did skim all 16 pages of this thread, whew! Won't reply to all of course, but James, I did want to say that I remember when you helped your friend get started with ebay and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Also, I messaged you on the 4th and it shows as delivered, but maybe it got dumped when you purged? Nothing all that important, just a hello and a little rant.
Let's see, what else? Jury doodie. :-) I had to call in every night but it was delayed each time and I never had to go in, so I am now officially done for this stint. I think they can't call me for two years now.
And 4th of July. I was at the beach, where fireworks are completely illegal and totally prohibited and where some of the fireworks that were set off rivaled the pros. Those laws are completely ignored down there and the results are amazing and spectacular. To the best of my knowledge, nobody got hurt, so all is good.
And, yes, I did drop into that temp board ebay is keeping open and posted a few suggestions. Mostly it brought to my attention what a nice group of people post on NTE. What a bunch of control freak trolls landed on that board. Seriously. The things they quibble over are so petty, and mostly about control. They must have arthritis in their button-pushing fingers. Yes, a couple posters tried to get under my skin over the size of my siggy and the font size I posted in and probably some other things I don't remember. They did not succeed in doing so. I made a few replies (tried to keep them neutral), saw where they were going and just decided there was no reason to continue posting. There was nothing for me to gain by staying in the conversation. Clearly there were cliques at play and I don't know the players and there is no need for me to be shot in the crossfire. James, I would guess you know some of them from your time on the many boards; seemed like some evil at play there. And of course, the obvious troll who was also gunning for you.
Well, one thing I learned is that there are people who just HATE long posts so I had better mind my Ps & Qs and post this before I offend someone. LOL! HA! Fortunately we are the kinder and gentler board and I am unlikely to get beat up by you guys. Thanks for that! :-)

Yes, I really don't feel the need to post in a large font. I have only developed the habit because some of the NTE regulars have requested it. Seriously, have you read those threads over there? Serious control issues.
